Electronic pilot logbook for UK CAA and EASA

CAVOK Life is an electronic pilot logbook for UK CAA and EASA airline crew. Import from your airline, keep night hours to both definitions, and export AMC1 when you need the PDF. It is the fewest clicks to a record that is already there when e-Licensing or an audit asks.

Built for European airline pilots, not for the company. Paper books and rigid apps make you type every sector. Here the log stays current after import, and it still bends to the hour types your licence actually asks for.

Fewest clicks to an accurate, valid logbook

The lowest effort to a record that is already right when you need it. One-click in where the airline is wired. Times calculated for you. The form ready to export. Still flexible enough for the hours this licence actually asks for.

One-click import

Where the companion is wired, it goes to the airline site and brings the logbook back. No download-hunt-upload. That is the time saving on the way in. If we have not wired your airline yet, drop in a CSV and map once. Next time is one click.

Times that fill themselves

Night to the UK CAA and EASA definitions. IFR, multi-pilot, and block time where the file allows. Edit a time and night recalculates. You check the totals. You do not type them from a sunset table.

Export when you need the form

The log stays current after every import. When e-Licensing, a job pack, or an audit asks, you export a draft or signed AMC1 PDF. Fewest clicks to the form, not a weekend of rebuilding the book.

Flexible, still a real logbook

Required AMC1 columns stay, so the export still looks like the document. Optional fields and hour types are yours: PICUS in PIC or separate, PF or PM, flight number, the insights board for this application. Manageable. Not a rigid book, and not an unofficial spreadsheet.

How the hours get into CAVOK Life

Three paths, same log: one-click where the airline is wired, a known CSV if we already recognise the file, or any other CSV mapped once. We are wiring every European airline. We do not claim every airline is one-click today. Adapters that are not live yet sit on the CAVOK Life roadmap, not in this product copy.

PathWhen to use it
One-click companionAirline is wired. easyJet eCrew today.
Known CSVeasyJet official logbook export, or Jet2.
Mapped CSVAny other file. Map columns once. Next time is one click.

One-click when the airline is wired

The companion goes to the airline site and brings the logbook back. No download-hunt-upload. One run can fetch roster, logbook, or both. Nothing commits without confirmation.

Logbook pull is on both plans where the adapter exists. Roster pull is Premium only. Today that wired path is easyJet eCrew. See the airline list for what each operator can do now.

Known CSV

If the file is one we already know, drop it in. easyJet's official logbook CSV maps when the profile airline is easyJet, including when the companion fetched it. Night, IFR, and multi-pilot can auto-fill. Sim columns become simulator rows. Jet2 has a known sector and logbook export too.

Any other CSV, mapped once

Unknown file: you map the columns. We remember the format. Next import is one click. That is the path for airlines we have not wired yet, not a promise that every European operator is automatic today.

Accurate and compliant

Those import, calculation, and export clicks only count if the hours are right. Night, checkable times, and an AMC1 PDF on the current documents, grounded in the authority you actually fly under.

Night hours to both definitions

Night is the error-prone bit people still do by hand. CAVOK Life calculates it from route, times, and airport positions. UK CAA: sunset plus 30 minutes to sunrise minus 30. EASA: civil twilight. Skipped if the file already has night. Change a time in the grid and night recalculates.

Set UK CAA or EASA Part-FCL on your profile. Changing it recomputes calculated night on existing flights, so the definition matches the authority you are applying under.

Times you can check

Preview before you commit. Totals follow the current search. Block time can fill from off and on. You can still edit a row. The log stays yours, not a sealed dump of whatever the airline file said.

AMC1 export when you need the PDF

Draft or signed AMC1 PDF on the current UK CAA and EASA layout. EASA differs on cover wording, not a separate form. Owner signature is stored for signed exports only. Pre-export review, then a change guard if the log moved after that snapshot. Export history keeps what you already sent.

The UK CAA accepts electronic logbooks for licence applications when they meet the format it publishes. Required columns follow EASA FCL.050 and AMC1 FCL.050. Always check the current CAA page before you submit.

Hours that match the licence

Flexible does not mean unofficial. A cadet, a CPL, an ATPL, a command upgrade, and an instructor do not all ask for the same mix. The log bends to that mix without leaving AMC1.

Required columns stay

AMC1-required columns are always on. That is the grounding. The export still looks like the document the authority expects, not a custom spreadsheet that happens to have hours in it.

Hour types you actually need

Optional fields are yours: flight number, crew role, PF or PM, extra take-offs, nav. Show PICUS folded into PIC, or keep it separate. Pin night, PIC, multi-pilot, or IFR on the insights board if that is what the next application asks for.

How it works

  1. Start the trial. Seven days on the Logbook plan at £50 per year after that. Annual billing only.
  2. Bring the hours in. One-click where the airline is wired, or drop in a CSV. Map once if we have not seen that format.
  3. Check night and totals. Preview, then commit. Edit a time and night stays right.
  4. Export when you need the form. Draft or signed AMC1 PDF. History of what you already exported.

Two plans. One year at a time.

Quick answers

Is an electronic logbook accepted by the UK CAA?

The UK CAA accepts electronic logbooks for licence applications when they meet the format it publishes. CAVOK Life exports a draft or signed AMC1 PDF on the current UK CAA and EASA layout. Check the latest CAA submitting-logbooks guidance before you send one.

Does CAVOK Life calculate night hours?

Yes. UK CAA uses sunset plus 30 minutes to sunrise minus 30. EASA uses civil twilight. Night is skipped if the import already has it. Edit a time and night recalculates.

Does it work with my airline's file?

One-click where the companion is wired, which is easyJet eCrew today. Known CSV for easyJet's official logbook export and Jet2. Any other CSV: map the columns once, remembered next time.

How much does the logbook plan cost?

The Logbook plan is £50 per year, with a 7-day free trial. Premium is £99 per year and includes this logbook plus roster, sharing, and companion roster pull. Annual billing only. No monthly plan.

Can I still keep a paper logbook?

Yes. This is an electronic pilot logbook that exports AMC1 when you need the paper-shaped document. You do not have to throw the bound book away.
